God the Father and God the Holy Spirit are invisible and beyond our ability to understand as humans. God the Son is also in many ways beyond our ability to understand but was seen and better understood by us as humans. God the Son is like God the Father in much the same way that a human son can be like his father even though we know and understand that some sons are not like their fathers and even though some may be very similar there are going to be differences.
The various stories in the Bible illustrate the fact that the smart people of that time struggled with this idea much the same way that we do today. When the Bible talks about being humble it is telling us to be nice to people that don't always see things in the same light that we do.
We can at least to a small degree understand that as both God and man Jesus Christ, the Son of God, can do miracles and yet demonstrate sympathy and compassion. Jesus Christ can save us from the death that we deserve because of sin and yet suffer in his own body the pain and anguish of dying while being entirely innocent of all wrong.
